More About Me

Hey there! 👋

I'm Eyal and a long long time ago I was a developer, but after a year of writing lines I realized design is just better. I've held various positions in and around advertising, tech and web/application development in both permanent and contract positions since 2016.

I once co-founded and ran an award winning agency in Tel-Aviv called Vsense

Then,

During my teenage years, I was particularly curious about hacking. When I was 16, I hacked my first server. Back then I had a strong passion for penetrating computers. Through the IRC network, I met online friends who taught me how to scan addresses, find weaknesses, and exploit them.

One particular server I was able to get into changed the course. I hacked my school's e-learning platform which led to the police getting involved. The principal and my mom threatened me with the last year of high school if I didn't stop hacking. Following the confiscation of my modem, I realized the local machine had little to offer. As a result, I started a PHP server and began experimenting with programming. My shift into development landed me a job in online gaming. I worked for an Ad-Tech company (that was acquired by William Hills). I discovered a new world of online traffic, monetization, and conversion.

After a couple of years at William Hills, and a short contract at Google in 2009, and with the social media trend being pop, I co-founded Vsense with a friend and together we grew the company from a team of two, to a team of twenty. We worked with top Israeli advertising companies including Adler-Homski&Warshevski, Gitam, BBDO TBWA and Shalmor to name a few. For them we developed dozens of white label games. Vsense was one of the few preferred developers on Facebook.

During this time I was a hands-on designer, developer and oversaw all creative and technical output, trained and mentored members of the creative team.

Now,

Throughout this journey, tech startups were always in the back of my mind as a place to explore and grow as a designer. I have held various contract positions in and around user experience and product, researching users' journeys, working with founding teams to bring embiguase ideas to life.

A couple of years ago I discovered Ubuntu Touch and fell in love with the amazing community behind it. Although there weren't any openings, I offered to be part of its meaningful mission. It combines my love of creativity with my passion for technology.

In early 2020 my request for a Green Card was approved and as a result my family and I moved to the US. With that move I continued to work with my clients and gained more experience. Now more than ever, I'm looking to expand my work and challenge my skills.
